With the recent general Election I couldn't miss some of the talk regarding policies on people who have been on benefits for many many years and are able to take a job, but choose not to for whatever reason.

I do object paying taxes to support people who are able to work but are too lazy or have no motivation to work. Indeed some people on benefits have never taken a job in their whole life. Can this be right?

Just to clarify, I am not talking about people who are genuinely unable to work due to medical reasons, but just those lazy, idol people in our society who simply take, take and never put anything back.

Rant over. I would welcome anyones views on this.

Paying into the system
Ought to get its reward
Not at the expense of others
Clearly having rightful claim
Each situation is different
So don't judge too harshly

There is nothing that can be done
However there is plenty that can be claimed
Into the social and out with a cheque
Everyone pays to keep them going
Vices can be paid for and
Every bar can be propped up
Smoking cigarettes and drinking as much I can

Now listen here Northall Resident. Many years ago my brother was forced into early retirement through ill health and where would he and his family have been without state incapacity benefits?

You say that people are propping up bars and the like but what do you know about the situation? My brother wanted to work but was unable to and he was not swinging the lead so think on.

Really Barney?

There are a lot of people out there claiming benefits, some of whom have never worked in their lives. They are propped up by tax payers who have little or no choice.

There are, of course, people who should be supported but there are a lot who should not be.

Someone should find out how many bloody potential terrorists are on benefit, many many muslims in the UK are, government's terrified to chase 'em up'

Have 4 drunken alkies wastes of space near me in a block of 4 flats that were built for old people, each one has a flat to them selves, benefits are for the beer, when cash runs out they knock on the door begging. I knocked the bastard down and I'll do it again, there are dick-heads out there who utter platitudes like "Ah those poor people" I just wait for the block to catch fire.

Yes really Northall Road. And how, Northall Resident expert, do you suggest we make sure that those who deserve support get it and those who don't are found out? It is all very well you having your rant but do you have any answers to offer?

Never profess to be an expert on these matters.
Unless you interprit my posts to show that I am
My taxes have paid for these spongers for too long
Put them to work
They are, in the main, spongers
You never know, it might work?

There is something fundamentally wrong when a person can earn more on benefits than when they are employed.
Young unmarried girl gets pregnant and goes to the top of the housing list.
What is the answer? Teaching morals is one way and also more support from the parents.
What we don't want to see is the return to the Victorian workhouse.

I wonder how many sick days people have taken to watch the football? Do these people infuriate as much as benefits claimants, I wonder?

One thing is for sure - those on benefits will not need to take a sicky will they?
